Went for lunch. Great food and service!
Excellent dinner, food, drinks, and service. A five star dinner with, boats and water views. A Tacoma classic. Best prime rib in town.
The very best restaurant omelet I've ever had, Dungeness and Shrimp omelet is very worth the price. I've been 3 times now to this restaurant and the views are always great, not often crowded but we have only visited mid-day (noon) on Saturdays. They've recently redone their bathrooms and they're much more pleasant and useable than they were a couple of years ago. My daughters are young and can be disruptive but the staff treats them just as well as us quieter paying adults. They actually behave more calmly here than almost any restaurant because of the water views that keep them occupied. Service is fast and friendly and on holiday weekends at least there's always complimentary coffee cake that's very good. Worth the trip for a relaxing brunch on the water and the food lives up to the price tag.
I thought the view was good great food service was so so
Nice views but poor service. He brought menu but never came back to get my order!
Came here on my birthday in an afternoon at 4pm. From the water this place looked welcoming. I was told to seat myself anywhere, the place was almost empty. But then I was asked to move to a different table to allow, for a party of 6 that later never showed up. To me that is a one star service, the food was fine, came out quickly.
Delicious burgers, fish and salads! Thanks you!
The service was great, the food delicious. Not great for vegetarians, but great if you like seafood. The best gin and tonic I've ever had!
Very nice restaurant on the water. Quality of the food was good.
Great foods, great atmosphere, reasonable price, and great complimentary tea and treats on Sat brunch! We had smoke salmon egg benedict, blueberries french toast with bacon.
The view is great. The service is friendly and outstanding! The food is high quality and DELICIOUS. Oh and to top it off the Johnny's seasonings originated there so you can purchase seasonings right there on your way out.
A+ for atmosphere (there was live music and the view is fantastic!) C for food. It wasn't anything special and a bit disappointing. D- for service and cleanliness. I would come again but with way less expectations
Great food great attitude from staff all around good place you enjoy seafood
OMG best clams ever, delicious Alfredo with LOTS of seafood, amazing calamari! Créme bru-freaking-lée! We had the whole deck to ourselves and it was amazing! Good drinks too!
Casual dining with a menu with something for everyone. My husband had the clam chowder and I had the smoked brie bacon fig jam pannini. Both were outstanding. The wait staff was friendly, helpful and informative. Prices were reasonable and the view of the marina and city was quite enjoyable. We would definitely return.
Our old haunt has gotten so much better. The deck and bar areas are much improved, the remodeling is tasteful and done with exceptional artfulness and workmanship, the food and expanded offering of entrees is out of this world, and the staff is world class. And in the midst of all this improvement I was so delighted to learn that the new management recognized the important contribution of someone who should have been elevated to a management position long ago. Congratulations, Reggie. You’re a class act.
Was very excited about having dinner here and was totally disappointed. The service was really really bad. Was given no cutlery. When our order got to our table it was cold and uncooked. Clearly they need a new chef. I would never recommend this restaurant. The location is great but the food is not on point.
We waited quite some time before we even saw a host. The chowder came to the table cold. They were quick to replace it and the meal itself was very good. Really nice view from every table.
The food was great, and Rebecca, our server, was even better!
The atmosphere and the waiter that helped us gets an A+. The food and drink was just okay. They comped me for the drink and I was very appreciative. I'm a strong believer in second and third chances so will definitely go back.
Tried to call to see if you were open for dining, no answer, tried again, no answer, tried 6 more times, no answer. I guess you're closed... too bad, I wanted to try your restaurant but on to the next.
My fiancée n I usually come to this place on Saturday’s for dinner n entertainment. We were ok with the food n service.Went to have lunch there last Saturday and ordered clam chowder as part of our order. So the clam chowder which is my fiancées favorite was very watery and so we told the server that maybe there was a mistake and making things short she said that the chef told her that they watered it down. I called today to talk to Mgr n d person stated that he could help me. I told him the problem and his answer was “that’s our method now and nobody complained”. If you don’t like it go to another restaurant”.No apology just point blank rude n abrupt.Hopefully the real Mgr or owner will read my review and make some drastic action.Connie
Awesome music and delish food!
Great place for dinner dates and well, “Entertainment”. Johnny’s will often times have magician Cary Durgin there. Our family has loved all the laughs and giggles he brings. Great food, views and laughs. A must visit on a Friday evening!
You guys, This place was great. Really great. I think they need to charge a little more for what they are offering. And i have no clue why there isnt a line into that place. Maybe its in a bad location? I don't know. I'm not from Tacoma. But really great place.
I went to Johnny's Dock a couple weeks ago for a lunch meeting for work. The menu was simple, but robust. I had the seafood linguine and was satisfied by the larger than average portion. The meal was a bit heavy for the time of day, but the quality was definitely there. The views are superb and the natural light is wonderful as well. It was a bit spendy, but if you are looking for something special or semi-formal, Johnny's Dock is a great option.
Overall a great place. I would say service was a bit slow, one server for the entire patio, but I'm assuming that's not normal though. Food was a amazing, a bit on the higher side, but quality well worth it. Also awesome views, good side patio, one of the best in the area.
Good food and yummy drinks, just not 5 star fancy.
Delicious clam appetizers. Phenomenal halibut for lunch. Great service with beautiful views.
Great lunch location. Quality service. Freshest seafood offerings.
Fabulous Valentine's Dinner! Great Dessert!! Great view!!
The food here is AMAZING! Great service!
We had a wonderful experience last night. The eggnog martinis were delicious as was my prime rib. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the clam linguini. My 11yr old ordered the oyster shooters as an appetizer and they were massive! Our waitress was wonderful as well. She has worked there 40yrs!!! Great evening!
On the deck happy hour. Most recommend especially when nice out. Great specials at happy hour and drinks.
Nice view, if you get seated at a window. Wait staff seem overloaded with assigned tables because it took a long time for basics like taking order, bringing drinks, refilling drinks, and clearing dishes.Food was inconsistent. Some was bland and unimaginative like the cheese bread, some was tasty like the ribeye steaks. Even those were inconsistent, mine was tender and juicy, but my boyfriend's was full of fat and gristle. The peanut butter pie (decimated plate pic) was excellent. Even I liked my bite and I dislike peanut butter!Overall though, very over priced. Even for the view and ambiance.
Love their stuffed crab and avocado. Appitizers. Great seafood. When in the mood for seafood scallops crab or even surf. And turff. Tender steaks and great desserts
On my first visit I came for dinner. I ordered an Old Fashioned that came out too weak, with the syrup overpowering the whiskey. My second drink, another Old Fashioned, was much better and stronger. The crab and artichoke dip came out warm and tasty; the bread was soft enough that it was easy to eat and easy to use with the dip. For an entree, I selected the Tenderloin Alaska. The beef was cooked to perfection, the crab chunks were delicious, and the bernaise sauce was an excellent touch.
Great food, great service! The menu offered a wide variety of selections and our group enjoyed sampling beef, fish and shellfish dishes. Everyone was very pleased. The clam chowder was a favorite with all.
The brunch was fantastic. I had the omelet with shrimp and crab. Very delicious. They offer coffee cake with your brunch as well. The chairs in the bar are very comfortable and the bar has a great view of the city and waterfront.
We tried this place on a Saturday evening when we heard they have live music. The weather was beautiful sitting on the patio, the view of the boats and water were wonderful. We ordered oyster shooters, calamari, steak salad and the California chicken burger. Everything was great! The house wines during HH, no complaints. Our server was attentive and friendly. The band was some older guys playing 70s 80s and it was just a fun relaxing g evening.
I went with a group to celebrate a birthday. The service was fast and efficient. The hostess and our server were very courteous and helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend it. 💯
The Waiter Made All The Difference, Rick Great Attitude in the Restaurant
Was there on a Saturday night. Menu had a few common seafood choices; solid, nothing special. Good fish and chips, coleslaw. Tasty chowder. No steak choices, which was a bit surprising. Server was busy, but attentive. Prices are high, but not ridiculous.
My wife and I came for dinner and drinks on an evening when it wasn’t very busy, zero wait time. Ordered drinks, appetizers and our meal all at the same time. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks, then 15 more minutes for the appetizers. Another 15 minutes then the bread that went with the appetizer arrives after the appetizers are gone. Another 15 minutes and our meals arrive. 1 was warm and the other very cold. We tried to order 2 more drinks to arrive with our meal but they arrived 10 minutes after. Poor staffing, although I think they did their best. The oyster shots on the appetizers list were the best thing about the entire evening. We usually can’t afford to dine at places like this which makes it even more disappointing. Our average nite out with appetizers, dinner and drinks for 2 is around $100. This was almost double. We expected that from a fine dining restaurant, just didn’t expect to regret our choice this evening.
Dropped in for coffee great service.Thank you lady on the door.
The best breakfast I've had in a long time
Had fish an chips. Won't order those again. Also it would be nice if they made the print bigger on the menu.
Had a dinner with a large group of people (30 or so). Johnny's Dock confirmed the reservation the day before and assigned two servers to take care of us. The food came out in a reasonable period of time; kudos to the cooks for the timing and the servers for getting it to the table while it was still hot!Johnny's Dock has been in downtown Tacoma for as long as I can remember and has excellent food.
The Blues Redemption band playing tonight was fantastic but the reception desk and reservations line is/was horrible. Our lounge wait staff was great
The Blue Baron is delicious. Great view. Nice atmosphere. Relaxed
